The Flu Shot – A Naturopathic Approach

Wed, Oct 28, 2009

Dr. Arrigo's Journal

The Naturopathic approach to the Flu is founded on supporting and optimizing the body’s defensive capabilities and immune system. This is accomplished by ensuring that there are no underlying disruptors of health that can undermine the immune system’s ability to react properly. This is not a vaccination against a specific strain of virus!

An important point here is that an immune reaction is not an “bad” reaction, for example the body will develop a fever or reduce appetite as part of the defensive action to eliminate the infectious agent by using body heat and the natural substances that are released with a fever or by “starving” out the bug though appetite suppression. An immune system that has trouble clearing the invading bug within a healthy time frame of 24 to 48 hours, to 5 days at the very most, is a troubled immune system. This immune system needs support!

The homeopathic immune-support flu shot with four potent remedies for those who prefer a natural flu shot alternative. It also is available in oral liquid or tablet form. The flu shot is a single dose injection into the muscle of the rear shoulder or buttock. It may be administered more than once throughout the flu season, for everyone of all ages, and in any state of immunity – while you’re healthy or during a bout of illness.

What’s in the Naturopathic Homeopathic Flu Shot?

It consists of four homeopathic complexes each with its own specific and general functions and effects. Each of these homeopathic complexes contains many ingredients. Below is listed the name with indications and ingredients with the specific signs and symptoms that each ingredients is intended to treat. The first three remedies listed are preventative and function to optimize the immune system and the fourth remedy has the additional affect of treating the acute infection of the flu.

Following each ingredient is the potency of the individual homeopathic expressed in the decimal scale with the letter “D” followed by a number. Some ingredients will have more than one potency included in the remedy.
