The science is quite astonishing when one takes the time and effort to study the human body as a whole. It becomes evident that the auto-immune process is disastrously misunderstood.

The initial immune disruptions that are created begin very unassumingly and are very difficult to detect. The fire that is slowly being built gives off very little heat, flame and smoke in the early stages. The aggressive nature of our immunity may turn against our own body as the immune system is inundated with the many foreign assaults by toxins and internal turmoil that adds to the burgeoning fire. Mainstream medicine has, to some extent, attempted to smother the flames. The approach today is using drugs in effort to shut down or hold back the inflammatory pathways, more specifically, by blocking certain biochemicals (tumor necrosis factor-alpha) or by blocking essential proteins from being formed (purines).

What may be the unfortunate, overlooked, consequence is much more dire than the devastating side effects that these drugs cause. The questions that are not asked that speak to the mechanisms of auto-immune disorders pertain to the very fundamental biological pathways that our human nature has developed over thousands of years. If a biological chemical, such as TNF-alpha, or an essential protein, such as a purine, has survived in our human biochemistry with very well known purpose, is the medical cure as simple as its mere inhibition due to its involvement in the disease pathology? Are the biochemicals in question part of the reparative or controlling process, or as part of the destructive process, which is the apparent concensus among the medical and scientific communities.
