EDS is the measurement of the body’s acupuncture points and meridian systems. It is a blend of modern technology and traditional Chinese medical theory.
The system is used to assess the body’s integrated function. It may be used to determine the overall state of regulation, to identify blockages, dental problems, heavy metals, vitamin/mineral deficiencies, and food and environmental allergies. EDS may also be utilized in selecting of the proper remedies. It may be used to screen:
- All the systems, organs and functions of the body, for allergies and sensitivities to foods, plants, animal dander, environment, inhalants and anything we meet in our day to day life.
- Imbalances in nutritional products such as vitamins, minerals, enzymes, essential fatty acids, proteins, hormones and so on.
- The quality of teeth, dental conditions, dental materials and compatible products.
- Sensitivity or weakness to heavy metals, toxic products and pollutants, such as herbicides, pesticides and insecticides.
- For parasites, fungus, yeast, Candida, bacteria, viruses, vaccines, miasms.
- Which remedy(ies) will balance, be it nutritional, herbal, allopathic, homeopathic, gem or flower essence, colour therapy, aroma, to name a few. If it is homeopathic, it will help determine the right potency.
An Electrodermal Screening test assesses the body for functional problems before they manifest into structural problems, for which treatment is usually too late.
In most European countries and in Canada, EDS is accepted and used as a medical device. Electrodermal Screening devices are only available to health care practitioners. They are used on five continents and have an impressive list of some of the world’s leading physicians. All Electrodermal Screening device owners and their technicians are given thorough training on the system and must pass ISEDT certified courses. All courses are established by the International Society for Electrodermal Testing Inc., which is an international society grouping together concerned health care practitioners from around the world.
Electrodermal Screening is not a diagnostic instrument in the traditional medical sense. It provides information that the practitioner builds upon with other modalities, tests, questionnaires, etc., to assist in formulating a comprehensive functional evaluation.
